Since establishment in 2006, the Naval Aviators of Fighter Composite Squadron 111 have provided professional adversary support to Fleet and Marine aviators, as well as to US Air Force, Reserve, and Air National Guard squadrons.  Flying the Northrop F-5, VFC-111 offers a low-cost, reliable, and nimble dissimilar platform, flown by highly experienced Naval aviators.  The squadron operates as an Active-Reserve Integration unit, allowing junior active-duty officers to learn from experienced Reserve aviators, and building on their experience to better US Naval fighter aviation at all levels.
