Since 1946, the 199th Fighter Squadron has served as Air Defense for the Islands of Hawaii, and for the United States in the Pacific.  Operating 7 different fighter types in their 73 year history, the MYTAI fighters provide ready alert, air defense, and air dominance capabilities for US Forces throughout the Pacific and as needed for global operations.
