The 706th Aggressor Squadron is the US Air Force Reserve's Nellis-based Aggressor unit, operating Block 30 F-16s and sourcing pilots to support F-35 Aggressor operations. In late 2023, the 706th took possession of former 457th Fighter Squadron F-16s to being operating them as Aggressors out of Nellis AFB, NV. Along with their new aircraft, the Wing also revived the "LV" tail code, previously flown on A-7 aircraft at Nellis when used as cover story for the F-117 program.
The 706th originally operated in Louisiana, but relocated to Nellis in 2007, following reductions associated with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure, and 2006's Hurricane Katrina. In 2023, the aircraft began receiving transferred F-16s from Joint Base NAS Ft Worth, and resumed operations of its own, assigned aircraft. Recognizing their heritage in Louisiana, the Desert Cajuns retain and proudly display the Fleur-de-Lis on their aircraft and patches.
Our maquette print of this aircraft is a great way to celebrate the heritage of the "LV" tail code and the 706th's contributions to the Aggressor mission!
