Hailing from RAAF Base Amberly, the 6 Squadron's motto, 'We Shall Return,' heralds back to the squadron's deep history in WWII, the adversity they faced, and their triumph in returning repeatedly to the fight. One of Australia's first Super Hornet squadron's in 2011, the squadron led the RAAF's fielding of the Growler, becoming an Electronic Attack unit starting in 2013, and achieving full operational capability in 2018.
Originally applied in 2017 for the unit's 100th Anniversary, this unique 6 SQN paint scheme continues to adorn airframe A46-306, and honor the history of the Squadron, the RAAF, and Australia.
