Did you know that the Dominican Republic operated F-51Ds until 1984? Fuerza Aérea Dominicana was the last operator to use the type in frontline service, closing out the Mustang's career over 40 years after its initial introduction.
Although the latter years saw them wear a much more subdued tan and green camouflage scheme, for the majority of its service in country, FAD Mustangs wore colorful markings and shark mouths.
