This print showcases VX-4's infamous F-4J painted in all black as the squadron flagship, VANDY ONE. AIRTEVRON FOUR was the US Navy's Fighter Test and Evaluation Squadron, and went by the moniker, Evaluators. This stunning gloss back scheme was a CAG schemes flown by VX-4, initially on its F-4J flagship, and subsequently on the F-14A and F-14D. While VX-4 and later VX-9 flew their all-black CAG birds with the Playboy Bunny tail flash until the mid-1980s, by the 1990s this emblem was considered politically unacceptable, and the Bunny was replaced by the VX-9 Vampires logo in white on the tail. The initial version of the Playboy bunny was a slightly crude depiction, as reflected in this print. Subsequent versions would more closely resemble the world famous and easily recognizable logo. Grab your copy of this shiny, gloss black F-4, and add this heritage to your aviation collection!
