VMFAT-101 was the last of the Legacy Hornet Fleet Replacement Squadrons, training new pilots to fly the F/A-18A-D aircraft for the USMC.  In fall of 2023, the Sharpshooters were deactivated as the final years of the Legacy Hornet soldier on in USMC service, but demand for newly trained pilots reduces.

As part of their training mission, the Sharpshooters maintained a small cadre of Adversary painted Hornets, painted in colorful schemes to all visual differentiation during Air Combat Maneuvering for new trainee pilots.

This print captures one of the last "legacy" F-18 schemes worn by the Sharpshooters while flying the Classic F/A-18. Our maquette print of VMFAT-101's Adversary painted Hornet is a great way to honor the heritage and legacy of this outstanding Squadron and its deep history!
