Commemorating the 75th Anniversary of Lt David Kingsley's Medal-of-Honor mission, this print showcases the unique anniversary scheme applied to an F-15C of the 173rd Fighter Wing, Kingsley Field, OR.  On 23 June 1944, Lt David Kingsley's B-17 was hit by enemy fire and began to go down.  As bombardier on the fatal flight, Kingsley began aiding wounded crew members, eventually removing his own parachute, and fitting it to the badly wounded ball turret gunner.  With no regard for his own safety, Lt Kingsley aided the wounded gunner to bailout, and eventually crashed and perished with the doomed B-17, "Sandman."

This special commemorative scheme honors Lt Kingsley, the airfield bearing his name, and the legacy of the 173rd Fighter Wing, Oregon Air National Guard.  This unique print captures the tremendous heroism and sacrifice of WWII airmen, and is a great edition to an aviation enthusiast's collection.
